The Enchantments - Aasgard Pass

With 2,200ft of elevation gain in under 3/4 of a mile, Asgard Pass is the most challenging and daunting part of hiking or backpacking through The Enchantments.

Luckily we camped at Colchuck Lake so we started our hike at 7:55am.

Last year when I won an overnight permit in June for my birthday, I was not able to climb the pass due to the snow. So, I was very excited this year when a girlfriend invited me along on her birthday weekend backpacking trip.

This place was incredibly different from the year before. Last year I only saw one mountain goat (which I was so grateful for). This year I saw around 14 - and babies!

The photo above shows Colchuck Lake from 1/4 way up the pass.

Throughout the whole hike there are breathtaking views all around you!

Crossing the stream from the waterfall was super fun and refreshing.

During the winter months, the waterfall is very dangerous and deadly as it creates a hole in the snow and multiple people have died because of it.

If you look carefully you can spot some Marmots aka Rock Beavers along the rocks as you're hiking up.

Once we reached the top, I felt like we were in
another country. It was the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

There were so many mountain goats walking around, I was in heaven!

We reached the top at 11:15am. According to my Strava it was 5.22 miles, 2,943ft of elevation gain, and a moving time of 4 hours and 2 minutes.
